Make Your Competition Irrelevant
Conventional wisdom in the business world has taught us to look at what other people do, isolate the things that work for them, follow a best practice and attempt to replicate a similar result in our own lives, and our own companies. The not so obvious issue with best practices is that the result is a pale imitation of our predecessors or a mediocre result. In the process we lose the one thing that enables us to stand out in the world, the thing that only we could do in only way the way that we could do it. We lose the ability to put our unique fingerprint and signature on everything that we do.
But when our work is so distinctive that nobody else could have done it but us, unmistakable, our competition becomes completely irrelevant. Customers don’t price shop or compare because we’re not the best option, we’re the only option.
In this workshop you’ll learn how to identify the best practices that are preventing innovation and creative breakthroughs. You’ll also learn why making things that are so distinctive that nobody else could do them but you or your company will ultimately make your competition irrelevant.
It’s only when we have the courage to attempt to what hasn’t been proven to work that we’re able to set an example and lead rather than follow an example that’s been set.
