Given the current state of affairs, it couldn't be a more perfect time than now to reinvent yourself. Over the past decade, we’ve experienced some of the greatest shifts and disruptions in our marketplace, workforce, workplace, and in our personal and professional lives. These disruptions not only affect our performance and productivity on the job, but they affect our relationships, our sense of self-worth and confidence, our financial stability, our health and well-being, and they can spill over into every area of our lives.

In this highly engaging and transformational series, Dr. Shirley Davis will take on her role as Life and Success Coach to share compelling personal stories of how she faced these disruptions in her own life and was able to tackle them head on. She will also share strategies and tips for how she and other successful people were able to recover and reinvent themselves to achieve greater success.

The Business Case for Diversity & Inclusion

In this seminar, participants will learn about the business case for diversity—specifically how companies are using inclusion and diversity to create a competitive advantage through their employer brand, talent acquisition strategies, employee development, performance management, engagement, and retention. Dr. Davis will describe the external marketplace and the changing global workforce that have necessitated the increased focus on inclusion; this will include an overview/refresher of the multigenerational workforce—describing all five generations, the unique challenges and opportunities that they bring to the workplace, and the strategies necessary to lead each generation, and bring harmony in any organization. She will also outline recent research that reveals how these changes have impacted job satisfaction, employee engagement, productivity, and retention of top talent and what are the financial implications.

Participants will reflect on how these changes may affect their organization’s culture, its customers, and its business strategy and how inclusive leadership behaviors can positively influence and build an inclusive culture.

10 Workforce Trends That Are Keeping CEOs up at Night

Never before has businesses faced such dramatic shifts and vulnerabilities in their ability to be competitive and sustainable. Peter Drucker coined it the Era of the 3 C’s (Increased Competition, Accelerated Change, and Overwhelming Complexity). And while these changes bring new possibilities and opportunities, they are also keeping CEOs up at night, according to a number of recent reports.

In this engaging session, Dr. Davis will provide you a deep dive snapshot of the global workforce and talent management trends.  She will outline 10 of them in this presentation and identify recommended strategies and best practices that some of the world’s most admired companies and business leaders can implement in order to move their organizations forward.

21st Century Leadership for a 21st Century Workforce

Never has effective leadership been more important than it is today. With growing global competition, a more global, hyper-connected, virtual, and diverse workforce, and increasing business complexities, a new framework of leadership is critical to organizational success and sustainability.

This presentation will introduce a 21st century leadership framework with practical strategies and common best practices for leading diverse individuals, teams, and organizations including how to effectively lead multiple generations in the workplace; how to identify and defeat bias; and how to build inclusive and high performing work environments that will drive greater innovation, increase employee engagement, and enhance productivity.

Employee Engagement Strategies and Their Impact to the Bottom Line

The hiring market is heating up, and many surveys indicate employees plan to change jobs in the coming year. How do you retain your most valued employees on your staff, and away from your competitors? And, for those you do retain, how do you keep them inspired and engaged? It often comes down to work environment.

Leaders have a key role to play by creating an inclusive, engaging work environment. Inclusive workplaces are more creative, innovative and successful than mono-cultural, homogeneous workforces. They are also able to better service a diverse client base. And, they illustrate that organizations are serious about the culture they are creating in the workplace. In this seminar, Dr. Shirley Davis will highlight the latest research findings on key drivers of employee engagement and loyalty. You will hear real-world examples of how organizations are attracting, engaging, and retaining talent and transforming their organizations into great places to work. Participants will not only be re-energized by the content, but they will leave this seminar with practical strategies and next practices for building an inclusive and engaging work environment.

Building High Performing Organizations and Teams

There is no question that organizations today are facing enormous challenges with globalization, demographic changes, economic and political shifts, technology advances, and the skills gap for great talent. Energizing workers is just one part of the solution. In this engaging and informative discussion, Dr. Davis will highlight the latest research findings on key drivers of job satisfaction and employee engagement and will demonstrate how a real and lasting commitment to building a respectful, inclusive, and highly engaged workplace can boost companies' bottom lines. Dr. Davis will also share the four stages that teams experience and how to move them from forming to high-performing. Participants will learn real-world examples of strategies that organizations implement for attracting, engaging, and retaining talent and transforming their organizations into great places to work. Participants will not only be re-energized by the content, but they will leave this session with at least 15 strategies for building a high performing and engaging work environment and high performing teams.

Getting a Seat at the Table

Have you been grappling with the proverbial question: “How do I get a seat at the table?”  This is not a new question; it’s an ongoing conversation that’s been occurring for the past several years among more women and people of color who report that they want to gain more exposure to senior leaders at the top and be recognized as a key performer. In this seminar, Dr. Davis will identify the key skills and behaviors and at least 12 proven strategies and techniques that will enable professionals to not just “get a seat” but to “earn a seat” at the C-Suite table. They will also learn strategies and practices for how to sustain their level of influence and impact in their organizations. Participants can begin implementing these practical tips immediately back on the job.

The Power of your Personal Brand

Standing out in today’s job market is tough, particularly given the slow recovering economy and competitive war for talent. Building a strong personal brand — and regularly maintaining it — can be key to your job search and career success. Not only does a personal brand help you stand out among other job candidates, but it also helps to forge new relationships with others in your field, ultimately leading to new opportunities. What is your personal brand? What do people say about you when your name comes up?  It’s not always what you know that gets you ahead; it’s who you know and what they know about you. And whether you know it or not, we all have a personal brand.

In this live seminar, Dr. Davis will teach you how to be the architect of your own message by creating a personal brand statement and strategy. She will also provide tips for how to stand out from among the competition in your job search, on social media, at work, and in your business using your unique qualities and talents.

Communicate with Power and Impact

Research continues to reveal that professionals who communicate effectively and confidently go further faster in their careers than those who don’t. Today more than ever, top-notch communication skills are an absolute must if you want to get ahead professionally.  In this seminar you’ll learn practical steps for how to be seen as a highly credible, authoritative communicator who commands attention and gets things done. Learn practical and proven techniques and skills on how to communicate effectively and confidently so that you make the best impression the first time. You’ll be armed with the tools and techniques you need to be a more motivating, more persuasive and more effective professional.

Negotiation and Influencing Skills

There’s no doubt about it—one of the most critical keys to your success as a working professional is the ability to communicate effectively, negotiate strategically, and to influence others. When you think about it, almost everything that we do requires communicating and influencing. If you can’t get the message across in a clear, concise, confident and compelling way, both internally and externally, you will derail your success.

During this presentation, you will learn some proven tools and techniques for communicating with various levels in your organization, including your C and E-suite executives as well as how to represent your organization to the public. Learn how to build trust and credibility; how to shine in meetings by getting your ideas and messages across; and how to ask for what you need and/or want, whether it is a new job, a long overdue promotion, negotiating a sale on a product, securing a loan at the bank, or negotiating a new business venture. Join this seminar and be prepared to be educated, entertained, and engaged as you discover the secrets of successful negotiation and influencing.

Women in the Global Workforce

Where are women leading and where are they lagging in today’s changing workforce? It’s no longer just a prediction—it’s now a reality that women hold the “majority” status in the global population. Research proves and experts continue to indicate that “by increasing women’s participation in the economy and enhancing their efficiency and productivity, we can have a dramatic impact on the competitiveness and growth of our economies.”  And while women continue to make significant progress worldwide with each passing generation, they still lag behind in key areas that contribute to economic sustainability and workforce inclusion.

In this informative seminar, the Dr. Davis will share her expertise and perspectives from recent research and emerging trends on how far women have come in achieving equality in the workforce, and how much further we need to travel. Additionally, she will offer some key strategies on how organizations can become employers of choice for women, then boost performance, innovation, engagement and inclusion by capitalizing on the power of women in the global workforce.

Lastly, she will offer some lessons in leadership and a framework for how women can navigate their way up and across the organization to better position themselves for success in senior and executive level roles.

10 C’s to Achieving Career Success

Looking for a fulfilling career and not just another job? Want to move up the corporate ladder? Tired of getting overlooked for promotions, being marginalized as a woman, and underpaid for the work that you do? Trying to manage work, family, finances, and other life commitments? Then this is the seminar for you. Dr. Shirley Davis will share proven strategies shared with her from over 100 executive women whom she interviewed from around the world, as well as her more than 20 years of executive coaching experience and from her own life’s journey of moving up the corporate ladder to the C-Suite. Participants will learn key strategies that have been tried and tested by other successful women who have been able to ‘crack the code’ and move up the corporate ladder; and practical tips on how to increase your effectiveness in negotiation, relationship-building, influencing, leadership, communication, and prioritizing skills.

Executive Presence: Poise, Professionalism, and Perseverance - Under Pressure

Executive presence remains an elusive term that leaves many professional women struggling with how to act upon it. Commonly included in its definition is poise, professionalism, and the ability to perform under pressure, among others. Research continues to reveal that it does play a role in hiring decisions, promotions, and perceptions and that executive presence is not just required for executives—rather it is a sought after skill for high potential professionals.  Moreover, executive presence is now the second highest reason why clients seek an executive coach. In this seminar, Dr. Davis will shed more light on what is executive presence, and how it can be developed and demonstrated for career success.

Getting Results is Not Enough

Being humble is admirable, but it could be a career blocker. Most women report that they don’t do a good job of bragging about their accomplishments and in fact, rely on their results to speak for themselves. However, their male counterparts do it naturally and all the time with no shame. And as a result, they get heard, promoted, and paid more in nearly every industry and business sector according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. If women are to achieve any level of parity in the workplace, they will have to become comfortable tooting their own horn with confidence and without blowing it. There is a skill and an art to doing so and this seminar will teach you the practical principles for promoting yourself in a meaningful, subtle, and strategic way that gets noticed.

10 Traits of Highly Effective Women

As a woman, you know that unequal pay, the glass ceiling, lack of respect, integrating work and family, and being marginalized are just some of the issues women face in the workplace. In this seminar you will hear some of the latest research on women in workforce—where they are leading and where they are lagging and what are some strategies that have been tried and tested by successful women who have been able to ‘crack the code’ and move up the corporate ladder.  You’ll walk away with tips and strategies on how to increase your effectiveness in relationship-building, networking, influencing, communication, and leadership.
