Leon Logothetis is a global adventurer, motivational speaker & philanthropist. It wasn’t always that way. He used to be a broker in the city of London where he felt uninspired and chronically depressed. He gave it all up for a life on the road. This radical life change was inspired by the inspirational movie The Motorcycle Diaries. The days of living and working behind his ‘slab of wood’ (or desk to the layman) are well and truly over. His new passion: Finding ways for your inner rebel (that voice that tells you, you are worth so much more than you think) to come out and play.
The inner rebel tells you that your life is yours. And anything you dream of is possible. Anything. And that the fuel for all this delicious potential is simple: Kindness and harnessing the power of human connection. And. Doing it all with a smile on your face and a spring in your step!
Leon has visited more than 90 countries and traveled to every continent. He is the host of the TV series Amazing Adventures Of A Nobody, which is broadcast across the world by National Geographic International and, over the course of three seasons, sees Leon cross America, the United Kingdom and Europe on just 5 dollars, 5 pounds, and 5 euros a day, respectively.
He recently returned from filming his new TV show The Kind Way Around, in which he circumnavigated the globe on his vintage yellow motorbike Kindness One, giving life changing gifts along the way to unsuspecting good Samaritans. All of this whilst relying on the kindness of strangers.
Leon is no stranger to adventure. He teamed up with First Book® & drove a car from London to Mongolia raising money to buy 10,000 books for underprivileged children in America. He also drove a vintage London taxi across America, giving free cab rides to the needy and working with Classwish to bring hope back to the schools of America.
Leon has documented his travels for numerous media outlets including Good Morning America, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Outside, Good, Psychology Today, and The New York Times.
His new book The Kindness Diaries, published by Readers Digest, was published December of 2014 it chronicles Leon’s circumnavigation of the globe on kindness.

What these good Samaritans didn’t know is the people that gave from their heart were given life-changing gifts. From a sending a homeless man back to school, to building a house for a HIV diagnosed mom in Cambodia, these gifts were his way of giving back. His speech sets out to inspire the audience to recognize their potential and give back in any way they can. Leon will discuss his long trek out of the corporate world and into the life he was always meant to live.
Real. Raw. Rewarding. Leon’s speech is sure to leave members refreshed and ready to change the world.
I See You: The Power of Human Connection
“I’m so scared of dying without ever being really seen.” _ David Foster Wallace When I stumbled across this quote a few years back, it hit me. Hard. To be seen? What a powerful yet at times elusive feeling. The internal engine of my mind started to rumble. I began to muse how many of us could relate to living our lives without this magical, yet crucial emotional delicacy. We seek it. We yearn for it. We often don’t find it. Yet the true magic of Humanity lies in our capacity to connect. To inspire. To belong. There are days when I am sure you do feel seen. There are days when I am sure you feel unseen. It is during the days that we feel seen that our spirit soars. Our life force expands. Our authentic power blossoms. See and be seen, that’s the goal of this speech…
Adventures of a Nobody
This is the story of how I quit my high paying job and travelled the world relying on the Kindness of Strangers. I worked as a broker in the city of London. I felt uninspired, depressed and devoid of purpose. After stumbling across the film The Motorcycle Diaries I had an epiphany. Living my life in a box was not going to cut it anymore. I yearned for change. I yearned for connection. I yearned for a real chance at life. I dropped everything and embarked on a life-changing journey across the world meeting amazing people that connected me to my heart.
Travel as the School of Life
I wasn’t a talented student and left school with a lack of confidence. Travel changed all that. Everything I didn’t learn in school I learnt on the road. I’ve travelled to over 70 countries and experienced the harshness and beauty of this planet we call home. Travelling across Peru and skipping death by a feet as a Landslide tore the train tracks off the mountainside taught me to live in the moment. When my 1960’s Cadillac caught fire in the night in the kidnap capital of India, Bihar Province I was taught conflict resolution. Standing in line for hours at the Haiti/Dominican Republic border taught me patience & gratitude. Travel has taught me about life. Travel has molded me into be the man I am today. Travel, my friends, will inspire you to live your greatest possible life.
Go On an Adventure! It’s Time to Live Outside the Box
Some of us enjoy our comfort zones. Some enjoy the safety and monotony of life. Some don’t. I am most definitely one of the latter. As a child I felt trapped. I felt my adventurous spirit extinguished by a conservative upbringing. Don’t go too fast. Don’t go too slow. Don’t do that. Hell no! Go fast. Do whatever your spirit guides you to do. I have been fortunate to embark on many adventures. Here are a few: Driving from London to Mongolia. Following my dreams and walking across Europe. Driving a vintage London taxi across America giving free cab rides to all. Anything is possible. Adventure is just around the corner. Live. Now.
