Recently, she founded her own nonprofit organization, the LIVE Today Foundation, an organization that enhances the quality of life for breast cancer survivors, especially those who suffer from lymphedema. The organization contributes to the health and well-being of its recipients by providing much needed and medically necessary compression garments. In addition, Dr. Sheri is also the creator and host of The LIVE Today Show, which airs at 5:30 pm CST every 2nd Wednesday of the month on CANTV Channel 21 and streams live at cantv.org/hotline.
Dr. Prentiss is an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For more than 20 years she has trumpeted the truth of God’s power to change those lives that want to be changed. As a medical practitioner, practical truths are woven into her every speech, message, and panel discussion. She has a keen ability to merge science and sacred, without being overly secular. She knows how to mix faith with facts and not lose her faithfulness to God’s Word. She challenges listeners to hear with both natural and spiritual ears, as she expounds knowledge and wisdom, so as to provide an opportunity to gain an understanding. To this end, she launched a new podcast, the first of its kind, “Where Medicine Meets Ministry: Dr. Sheri Talks Faith & Facts” a podcast that addresses fundamental questions when it comes to spirituality, health, medicine, death, dying, and faith using a combination of a solo-cast, case studies, testimonies, and interviews with guest experts.
Dr. Prentiss obtained the following degrees: BA, with honors, Northwestern University 1989; MD, with honors, Loyola Stritch School of Medicine 1993; MPH, with a 5.0 GPA University of Illinois School of Public Health 1998; CPE (Certified Physician Executive), CCMM 2007; CSP® (Certified Speaking Professional™), National Speakers Association. She is a member of the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine as well as a Fellow, Former Director of the Board, and CPE Tutorial teaching Fellow of the American Association for Physician Leadership. Her executive experience includes Program Medical Director for Advocate Healthcare Occupational Health & Employee Health for the entire State of Illinois; Global Medical Director of Medical Operations for Hospira; and Associate Area Medical Director for the United States Postal Service. She is the former National Spokesperson for Susan G. Komen 3-Day as well as the former National Ambassador for Health Equity for Susan G. Komen.
