Texas
On January 5th, 1980, Chet McDoniel was born into this life with no arms and shortened legs. Though dealt a vicious blow in the delivery room, Chet's parents decided to raise him as they would any other child. They instilled a positive attitude in Chet that carries with him through to this day.
I’m Not Broken: You Don’t Need Arms to be Happy
This presentation focuses on why so many people think it is okay to sit on the sidelines and watch life go by. Chet certainly has a reason to avoid challenges and could take the easy way through life, leaning on his disability. He has never once, nor will he ever choose the easy way, and this talk challenges listeners to live their dreams by just telling themselves, “If Chet can do it, so can I!”
(This presentation is recommended for corporate, educational and other motivational settings.)
You Don’t Need Arms to be a Great Student
This presentation is a humorous look at Chet’s school years with an emphasis on success despite barriers. Chet will motivate your student body not only to strive for success in learning, but also to get on their way to becoming positive, joyful people. This talk also gets to the heart of bullying as Chet tells about his years of being the target of verbal and sometimes physical abuse. Instead of this topic being a boring approach, Chet tells many a funny story to help students understand that he is no different than anyone else. Once they realize how to look past the outside, bullying won’t have a foothold in your school. Full of laughter and even a Q&A time with your students, you cannot afford to miss bringing in this fantastic presentation.
(This presentation is recommend for educational settings.)
You Don’t Need Arms to be a Christian
Chet McDoniel started as a Church Speaker and Christian Youth Speaker in early 2007 when Chet’s dad, Jim, wrote a book about Chet’s life. Since then, Chet and Jim have been able to tell this story in front of tens of thousands of people. They use humor and stories about Chet’s life in order to make their point that God can use you no matter what you look like. Chet firmly believes that God does not cause bad things to happen to people. Chet does not blame God for his disability, but rather, has let God use what could have been a tragedy to show His glory. Explore with Chet as you learn more about God, and are offered a different look at what being a follower of Christ means.
(This presentation is recommended for church and religous organizations)
Not Perfect…But Worth It
This presentation explores the value of life and why the pro-life cause is so important to Chet. After nearly dying at birth, Chet was allowed to die by the doctors responsible for delivering him. Chet was given the normal suction and attention that most newborns get, and then he was laid in a crib in the corner of the room and “given an opportunity to prove he had the moxy to live.” Chet believes every life is important, and will inspire your attendees to rekindle their belief in the pro life cause.
(This presentation is recommended for Pro-Life organizations, and makes for a great fund-raising banquet speech.)
SPECIAL PRESENTATION – All He Needs for Heaven
This presentation is Chet’s favorite to give as it involves his father, Dr. Jim McDoniel joining him for a special look into the life of a family with a handicapped child. Dr. Jim McDoniel begins the presentation by telling the sad tale of the events of Chet’s birth, and throughout the presentation, the McDoniels tell stories and give life lessons that will inspire you to live life to the fullest. This presentation is based on a book that Chet and his dad wrote, which is about to be printed in its 2nd edition. Your members/attendees WILL BE BLESSED by this presentation.
(This presentation is recommended for churches, private schools, and any other Christian motivational setting such as Pro-Life organizations. This talk is religious in nature and attempts to answer some theological questions as to why God is not to blame.)
