Andrew Cohen is a Partner in Cognizant’s (Nasdaq – 100: CTSH) Healthcare Consulting practice and is focused on advising provider health systems and health plans on a national level as well as overseeing Cognizant’s Business Transformation service line and their Healthcare Blockchain center of excellence. Much of his focus in centered around healthcare reform, industry transformation and payor-provider convergence. Andrew has over 25 years of healthcare industry and management consulting experience.
Prior to joining Cognizant, Andrew was Senior Vice President at Kaufman Hall and Associates where he provided strategic planning and advisory services for a wide range of clients, including healthcare systems, academic medical centers, and community hospitals. Andrew’s responsibilities focused on healthcare reform, value-based contracting, payer relations, market and product development, growth strategy, population-driven demand, and physician and hospital/ health system integration. He also has extensive experience working for healthcare insurers such as UnitedHealthcare, Inc. where during his eight-year tenure as Vice President of Product Development he focused on commercial, Medicare, group retiree, and value-based product development, strategy, sales, network strategy, contracting and product portfolio management. Andrew also has held senior positions at other large insurance companies, including Kaiser Permanente, CIGNA, and HealthNet. Additionally, his experience includes overseeing healthcare and public sector consulting practices for a global technology consulting firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Andrew has spoken and published extensively on the topics of healthcare reform, payer and provider convergence, population health management and developing trends in the commercial and government healthcare markets.
In an age of “convergence” and the ever growing need for healthcare industry collaboration, Andrew’s background and experience adds to Cognizant’s ability to bridge the gap between payers and providers.
