Larry Walker is the President of The Walker Company Healthcare Consulting, LLC, a Lake Oswego, Oregon-based healthcare management consulting firm. The Walker Company specializes in health care governance development, leadership workshops and retreats, and organizational research for hospitals and health systems.

Larry has presented governance education to thousands of trustees at dozens of hospital association conferences. In addition, he works with
individual hospital boards of trustees to develop and implement governing performance improvement strategies.

Larry served for six years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Gresham, Oregon’s Mount Hood Medical Center. He has also been a trustee of Portland, Oregon’s Legacy Health System and two of its predecessor organizations, Healthlink and Metropolitan Hospitals, serving 12 years on the boards of these three systems. He is a longtime consultant to the American Hospital Association, where his work is focused primarily on member relations, assisting in the development of various “toolkits” and other resources for members, and member research on topics including clinical integration, organizational transformation, community service, billing and collections, disaster preparedness and more.
