It’s an open secret that despite representing an increasingly large share of the workforce, women continue to face institutional and cultural barriers in the corporate world. In honor of Women’s History Month, Executive Speakers Bureau is highlighting the contributions and successes of seven women who have not only overcome opposition in their own fields but have gone on to inspire and uplift millions of women around the world who are facing similar obstacles.

As co-founders of Good Company Consulting, Hannah Ubl and Lisa Walden share a simple mission statement: Help build workplaces that don’t suck. With an unmistakable style and sense of humor, Ubl and Walden lay out their pitch for developing human-centric workplace cultures and leadership styles.

By identifying and zeroing in on the different attitudes, experiences, and perceptions of historically underrepresented groups (women among them), Walden and Ubl reframe the narrative of what the workplace can and should “feel” like, while simultaneously empowering employees to use their voices in building a workplace that truly works.

A powerhouse speaker and author who has worked with the likes of IBM, Raytheon, and Google, Charlene Wheeless has received numerous accolades for her contributions to uplifting women in the business world, including being named a “Woman Worth Watching” and being honored as one of “25 Influential Black Women in Business.”

Her keynote, Making the Invisible, Visible, lays out Wheeless’ comprehensive strategy for identifying and addressing the marginalization felt by women and people of color in the workplace and provides actionable tactics for women to develop agency in their career and life choices.

A celebrated TEDx speaker, psychotherapist, author, and CEO of a mental health consultancy, Petra Velzeboer is an expert in designing the future of work by creating cultures that place a premium on mental health and diversity of thought.

By drawing on her lived experience of being raised in, and later breaking free from a notorious cult, Velzeboer shows audiences how to spot and stop similar toxic workplace cultures and corporate group-think that can silence and marginalize the perspectives of women. Emphasizing balance and performance in an age of demands and distractions, Velzeboer guides her audiences towards creating inclusive workplaces that can serve as a positive good for employee mental health.

Combining a research background in Integrative Psychiatry with expertise in business and media, Kristel Bauer has shared her data-backed insights into the future of work and achieving peak performance with audiences ranging from Bank of America to General Mills, all while helping thousands of women articulate and pursue their own professional goals in the workplace.

With a particular focus on leadership development, Bauer shows audiences the most common disconnects that occur between leaders and their teams, and how women in leadership positions can increase clear communication, build empathy, and ultimately encourage peak performance of their team members.

As a Vice Chairman of Morgan Stanley, a best-selling multi-published author, 2004 Woman of the Year, and chair of the National Women’s Business Council as appointed by President Obama, Carla Harris has set herself apart as one of the most prominent thinkers and leaders in the business world today, bar none.

A powerful and truly inspirational stage presence, Harris now turns her attention to sharing her experience and wisdom with women around the world. By detailing how listeners can best position themselves for success in a leadership position by incorporating eight key aspects of intentional leadership, Harris helps to reframe the narrative about what being a leader truly means.

Named a “Top 10 Must-See Motivational Speaker” in 2023 by Success Magazine, Erin King has inspired women across the world with her signature keynote address, “Unlock Your Big Deal Energy.” By encouraging a radical sense of self-knowledge and agency, King prompts her audiences to recognize, develop, and capitalize on the most valuable personal resource: energy.

In treating our energy in the same manner as we might treat time or money, King challenges audiences to think deeply about what interactions leave them feeling energized and how we might reflect that energy to uplift and inspire those around us.
