Lakshmi Gopalkrishnan Speaker Biography

Lakshmi Gopalkrishnan is the CEO of The Infinite Impact Group, a Seattle, WA-based leadership and organizational development firm with a global client base that spans 26 countries. Her transformative—yet 100% practical—methodology brings data, storytelling, and life skills to the fine art of leadership and human development.

Originally from Kolkata, India, Lakshmi has lived in the United States for 3 decades. Her own multicultural story represents the continuous intersection of privilege and dispossession, wild successes, and profound disconnection. It has made her poignantly aware that today’s critical Inclusivity conversations are creating new tyrannies when they exclude, shame, or ignore people on the basis of “privilege”—age, gender, color, class, race, education, social or economic status, and more.

We all yearn to be seen. We all deserve to be seen.

With 25 years in senior management and consulting in F5 tech and over 7,300 hours of professional coaching experience, Lakshmi knows first-hand that there is a greater need than ever to foster a different kind of dialogue in the workplace and world—one that helps people lead and connect with curiosity, empathy, generosity and openness. To get there, she believes the first step is accepting our own unique stories and finding the courage to share them with others so they can do the same. Only then can we come together to truly move the worlds in which we live and work and ensure that conversations on critical topics like diversity remain truly inclusive and are never oversimplified.

In sharing her own journey with its continuous intersections of privilege and disenfranchisement with her audiences in relatable and poignant ways, Lakshmi helps them step into courage and embrace their own uniqueness without apology, so they can re-imprint and re-center themselves and empower others to do the same.

Lakshmi has a Masters’ degree from Georgetown and a Ph.C. from the University of Washington and is a graduate of the Strategic Marketing Management Program at Stanford Business School. Her clients include leaders and teams at Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft, Starbucks, T-Mobile, Yum! Brands, Zillow, and several nonprofits and startups looking to transform the global marketplace.

She is a certified facilitator of several cutting-edge leadership frameworks, including Dr. Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead™ program, for which she is one of only 3 mentors worldwide.

Dare to Lead: Building Courage Inside Out
Transformative leadership in uncertain times

What does it take to lead people and organizations through these truly unprecedented, shapeshifting times, when we must distance ourselves from each other just when we need each other the most?

It takes Courage. Not as lofty “corporate poster speak” or an inherent, “either you have it or you don’t” personal trait, but as a practical skill set that you can learn, model, and build in those around you. Starting now.

Lakshmi Gopalkrishnan is the CEO of The Infinite Impact Group. She has 25 years of senior business leadership/management and consulting experience at Microsoft Corp. and 7,300 hours developing leaders and organizations in 26 countries around the world. She is a Certified Facilitator—and one of only three senior mentors—for Dare to Lead™, Dr. Brené Brown’s evidence-based courage-building program for corporations. She is also part of the Dare to Lead™ Speaking Team, an incredible group of speakers who have been trained and certified in Brené’s work.

As a hard-charging executive who prided herself on always having it together—until she didn’t—Lakshmi’s imperfect courage and rich storytelling strike an immediate chord with audiences. In this engaging, “learn by doing” keynote, she invites participants to work through a real-life challenge that makes them feel vulnerable and exposed and helps them recognize their instinctive, often disserving reactions. She then shows them how to replace those reactions with actionable self-awareness and practical skills that radically transform their capacity to show up, step up, and lead with courage and grace.
