Dr. Ted James is the chief of breast surgical oncology and vice chair for academic affairs at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School. He has an extensive background in quality improvement in healthcare and is actively involved in advancing patient-centered care. Dr. James obtained a master’s degree in health care management and has been recognized nationally for his leadership in healthcare. He has successfully implemented a number of quality initiatives aimed at improving clinical outcomes and enhancing the patient experience.

Dr. Ted James speaks nationally on physician leadership and transforming healthcare. He enjoys partnering with other healthcare professionals to develop the tools, strategies and culture necessary to achieve their goals. Dr. James is a professor of surgery and an appointed distinguished educator. He has served as faculty for professional development programs at the Harvard Macy Institute, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and the Association of American Medical Colleges.
