As a result of applying the principles and skills presented, you will be able to:

  • Identify the 3 major male and female communication tendencies
  • Explore the 5 habits that hinder effective communication

Reaching Today’s Multicultural Market

Are your sales representatives losing opportunities to close sales because they are pre-judging the client or customer?  Are they only prospecting and selling to people who are "just like them?"  This program is for people who know the basic steps of selling, and are looking for ways to increase sales results through effective relationship-building techniques with a diverse market that includes differences of age, gender and ethnicity. Many of the best practices in Lenora’s book, Real Sales Strategies that Work will be shared and discussed.

As a result of applying the principles and skills presented, you will be able to:

  • Identify key behaviors that often reduce trust, respect, and cooperation across diverse groups;
  • Quickly identify a prospect’s “comfort zone” surrounding the sales process and determine the best ways to initiate contact, make the presentation, negotiate, close the sale, and maintain positive client relationships;
  • Develop sales plans that address the uniqueness of each customer.

Effective sales professionals take the time to read their customer or prospect before launching into the sales process. Multicultural sales skills will help you read a broader mix of customers more accurately.

The Diversity of Communication

BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOUR TEAM! The toughest aspect of leading others is communication because there are so many factors to consider. During this session you will learn the FOUR key communication/behavior styles and how to identify the preferred styles of each of your team members. You will be able to complete your own DiSC profile and identify your strengths as a leader.

DiSC® Classic can help you:

Colorism – A Silent Bias in the World of Diversity
Thursday, October 2, 2014

Colorism, what is it? The word "diversity" when used in the workplace conjures up many meanings, often determined by where in the world you are. In the United States and especially in the southern states most people immediately think- race. In some parts of the US and within most other countries, people will think- race and gender. Within organizations that have launched diversity and inclusion initiatives the meaning of "diversity" broadens to include LGBTQ, age, abilities and many of the other differences among us that when respected creates a healthy and productive diversity of thought. Rarely, however do people think of colorism as an aspect of diversity and bias.

New Year's Resolution: Make a Difference One Person at a Time!
Thursday, January 3, 2013

How can we successfully work with people different from ourselves? How can we learn to respect each other with more than a veneer of politeness? In today’s multicultural world filled with polarized values, the task may seem insurmountable. Many just give up and assume one person cannot really make a difference anyway. I believe each of us, individually, can make a tremendous difference toward building a human culture of understanding and respect.

Inclusion…Respect…Engagement: Are they just buzz words?
Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Now that the holiday season is upon us, this is a natural time to practice our cultural competencies. Will you be around family members or coworkers that you would rather avoid? If your answer is yes, I invite you to use this time to be introspective instead of judgmental— judgmental is so much easier. Ask yourself why this person annoys you so. Remember that you only have to be in their presence for a short time. Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned from them.
