Don Mann Sizzle Reel
Don Mann’s impressive military biography includes being a decorated combat veteran; Corpsman; SEAL Special Operations Technician; jungle survival, desert survival, and arctic survival instructor; small arms weapons instructor, foreign weapons instructor, armed and unarmed defense tactics, advanced hand-to-hand combat instructor; and Survival, Evade, Resistance and Escape Instructor; in addition to other credentials.
Mann is the author of the autobiography Inside SEAL Team Six: My Life and Missions with America’s Elite Warriors. When Osama bin Laden was assassinated, the entire world was fascinated by the men who had completed the seemingly impossible mission that had dogged the U.S. government for over a decade. SEAL Team 6 became synonymous with heroism, duty, and justice. Only a handful of the elite men who make up the SEALs, the US Navy’s best and bravest, survive the legendary and grueling selection process that leads to Team 6, a group so classified it technically does not even exist. There are no better warriors on Earth. Mann knows what it takes to be a brother of this ultra-selective fraternity. As a member of Seal Team Six for over eight years and a SEAL for over 17 years, he worked in countless covert operations, operating from land, sea, and air, and facing shootings, decapitations, and stabbings. He was captured by the enemy and lived to tell the tale, and he participated in highly classified missions all over the globe, including Somalia, Panama, El Salvador, Colombia, Afghanistan, and Iraq. But to become a SEAL, Mann had to overcome his own troubled childhood and push his body to its breaking point–and beyond. At the podium and in Inside Seal Team 6, he shares a high octane narrative of physical and mental toughness, giving unprecedented insight to the inner workings of the training and secret missions of the world’s most respected and feared combat unit.
Don Mann has over 35 years (1,000+ races) worth of competitive racing experience, and was once ranked 38th in the world as a triathlete.
Mann received a Masters in Management from Troy State University, in Troy, AL, a B.S. in International Relations & Criminal Justice, from Florida State University, in Tallahassee, FL, and a B.S. in Liberal Science, from State University of New York. He lives in Williamsburg, VA.

Don Mann’s Inspirational Speaking and Team Building Seminars
For over 25 years, Don Mann’s training programs have been world renowned and have until now focused on training elite military personnel, those preparing for the US Navy SEALs, and extreme athletes aspiring to compete in the world’s most challenging physical endurance competitions.
Don Mann, a retired Navy SEAL and internationally renowned athlete has changed the lives of countless people by sharing his unique Combat Mindset training philosophy approach. Don has tailored his unique training philosophy to meet the needs of those outside the military and sports communities by developing programs for the corporate world.
Don’s training seminars are popular, fun and powerfully effective. His inspirational “Reaching Beyond Boundaries” presentation, along with the training seminars typically range from 2 – 4 hours in duration and do not require any degree of physical readiness.
Don Mann is the kind of guy who knows how to set goals and then go after them. After all, this former Navy SEAL also happens to be a best-selling author, motivational speaker, mountaineer and world-class endurance athlete. None of those things came easy however and before Mann could achieve any of them, he first had to develop a particular set of skills that not only allowed him to clearly identify his goals but also plot a path to achieving them.
His message includes equal doses of inspiration and strategy. As he likes to say, “Anybody with the proper mindset can achieve anything imaginable.” The key, which he relates in his “Reaching Beyond Boundaries” presentation, is to “turn macro goals into micro goals.”
Setting big goals is an important way for both people and organizations to identify what it is they want to accomplish, although sometimes reaching those goals can be a daunting task. But by breaking those larger goals down into smaller ones, they become much more manageable and easier to handle. By first accomplishing those micro-goals, you’ll soon be on the path to reaching the macro ones as well.
“There are so many athletes so much faster, stronger, smarter and more experienced than I have ever been, but my mindset allowed me to compete in the same arena as them,” Mann says.
Shortly after the mission that left bin Laden dead, Mann published the bestseller Inside Seal Team Six: My Life and Missions with America’s Elite Warriors. He incorporates many of the same lessons and stories into his presentations, which often leave attendees inspired to change how they live.
In his inspiring presentation “Reaching Beyond Boundaries,” Mann reveals similar stories and personal anecdotes from his many years working with the SEAL teams and competing as a world-class athlete. He also shares insights into his personal philosophy of setting micro-goals to achieve larger macro-goals, while instructing individuals, small groups and larger organizations on how to employ that same philosophy to achieve both personal and professional success.
The “Reaching Beyond Boundaries” seminars focus on:
- Developing a “combat mindset”
- Goal development (micro and macro)
- Confronting challenges
- Conflict aversion
- Developing team synergy
- Delegation of duties
- Effective communication
- Team dynamics
- Observation skills
- Working in a stressful environment
These courses can be modified to meet the specific needs of the client.

I’ve just returned home and wanted to follow up and thank you for providing a great moment during the BPI President’s Club.
People were impressed, amazed, in awe and yes… a little skirmish as well.
Everyone was raving about your presentation and really enjoyed meeting.
Thanks again for everything and I do hope our paths cross again.
Ever since I heard your presentation this past spring I have been thankful for the connection that we made and have set goals and re set them again because I have been able to accomplish the original goals that were set. Your presentation has caused me to once again feel the honor and pride in myself and in my life and have since recreated my mind set and my physical being.

It was entirely my pleasure to meet you at the DTN Ag Summit in Chicago. Honestly, I was humbled to be in the presence of such a physically strong and mentally aware hero. Your presentation was inspiring to me as well as the entire group of attendees – it was excellent.
Generally, I’m not one to “take notes” at such a presentation, about half way through yours I picked up my pen and a notepad and started taking notes! I particularly like your quote “If you’re going through hell, don’t slow down”! In life, in a career, in sports training, in raising teenagers, this saying really applies.
When we visited I had mentioned that I was preparing for a ½ marathon – it’s been a lot longer process than I’d ever imagined. Last year, everything was going well, 5K , 10K, 15K various other distance competitions and for my 47 year old butt, I had finally figured out that I was only competing against my own time, not some person I’d never see again in my life – all was going well until……. I missed a step on my back porch, fell, landed on my tailbone and ruptured a disc. What a bummer. However, I was fortunate to have found a surgeon that didn’t want to operate on me, encouraged me to stay active and recover on my own. On Monday of this week, he gave me the go-ahead to get back to running and training. That was a 9 month recovery and it seemed to have taken on a life of its own. The good news? I’ll be ready for the San Luis Obispo ½ marathon by early April, come hell or high water. I promise you, I’ll use your address to our group as my inspiration, I promise you.
I wish you well and all the best in your career. Thanks for your service to our country and thanks for being an inspiration to so many.
